Solis Tractors Sussex, Surrey & Kent

Choosing the right tyre type for your particular application is paramount.

The versatility of your compact tractor will allow you to use it on all surfaces for example: sensitive turf,  loose or wet soil, rubble or concrete surfaces.

The four main types of tyres available for a Solis compact tractor are:

Turf Tyres – Grass Tyres,

GP Tyres – Galaxy Garden Pro tyres

HDI Tyres –  Heavy Duty Industrial Tyres or  Skid Steer Tyres.

Agri Tyres –  Agricultural tyres – both wide and narrow

Turf Tyres

Usually they have a type of small diamond pattern with shallow button style tread.

These are ideal for preserving sensitive grass areas such as lawns, playing fields and Golf Courses.

The wider the tyre the larger footprint thus the greater reduction in ground pressure.

Turf tyres are best to suited in applications where creating minimum ground disturbance is most important

GP Tyres

The Galaxy Garden Pro is a mixed-service radial tyre developed specifically for small tractors used in gardening, orchards and vineyards, and also for use on hard surfaces such as roads.

The block tread pattern is nearly 50% deeper than typical turf tyres, with the directional block pattern providing a low rate of wear as well as great flotation.

The Galaxy Garden Pro tyre has low rolling resistance for excellent fuel economy.

HDI Tyres

HDI tyres are one of the most popular choice for our Solis compact tractors

These have wider lugs than the Agri tyres and shallower voids.

The result is a greater load bearing surface than the Agri tyre and more grip than the Turf tyres.

This is a really hard wearing tyre especially suited if a front loader is fitted to the tractor.

HDI tyres are the most all round tyre option offering more grip than a turf tyre and creating less ground disturbance than an Agri tyre.

Agri Tyres

Agri Tyres have an open tread with more void than tread compared with Turf or HDI tyres.

This will give much greater traction but will create greater ground disturbance in loose or wet soil conditions.

Agri tyres are ideal in situations where grip is especially important. E.g. when they will be regularly used over wet ground or in wooded areas.
